Epiphyllums

I wish I was better at Epis!  But here is one of my favs that has no name.  It bloomed several blooms this year.

We are fast approaching the main blooming season for Epi oxypetalum. We should have a nice show tomorrow or Monday.

I missed the blooms on my oxypetalum this year smiley  I had to go out of town and all the buds waited till I was gone to put on their show. At least the people who were watching our farm while we were away got to witness them. And they liked the blooms so much, they took home 2 large cuttings smiley

Such a nice bloom! I have one epi, I got 2 years ago from a plant show, the cutting itself had a name written on it as newport.  So far I have not been able to make it bloom, but it is alive, just sending out leaves, leaves, leaves...oh well..who knows..it may come along sometime right?

Here is how she looked like when I got her:

And here she is now, still no blooms though:

I am discouraged about my 30 or so epis lately.  I've kept them alive for many years but they hardly bloom.  Just a few, like this red and Deutche Kaiserin (small pink). This year I'm trying a couple of hours under a grow light.  We'll see.  If I ever figure it out, it will be spectacular!!

Yes, I do. But they usually start blooming for me in late Winter. Your elliptica looks great.

No luck for any blooms for my epi...just busy making more and more leaves.

Someone told me at a garden show that it will have greater chances of blooming if grown outdoors...hmmm..much as I like that, I will have problems bringing it back indoors when fall/winter comes in...

But here's hoping it may just be waiting for some more maturity before it decides to give me some blooms...

I keep forgetting to post this NOID that I've had for 7 years and this is the first bloom. I can't decide if this is truly its color or if it might have a virus! There is a second bud so I hope this will help me figure it out when it opens.

Sigh! Most of the buds fell off again this year. I need an expert! But this is the second time and more blooms on Pink Cloud, so there is hope.

I got this plant from a friend. It has a spike now. But I don't now what color the flower has. And I think it's too hot on the rooftop. Should I move it to the balcony????

Mine like a cool winter. But I don't think I have the best conditions here. They like greenhouses. I'd vote for balcony.

Unfortunately the bud didn't open. It just turned to yellow and dropped off.

But now I have three new buds. I hope so much that they will open.

Oh. I do hope they make it to flowers! I wish I knew what makes them blast so easily. I assume it's a temperature change but it's never really obvious. I gave a lot of my epis to Black Jungle and they look sooo much healthier in their greenhouse. I'm hoping I'll finally see blooms on them there.

Thanks, Kathy. Yes, I think they grow better in greenhouse. It's too hot on my rooftop and too shaded on my balcony. But we have rainy season now. The epi stays on the rooftop. It's cooler and there is enough sunlight.
